The camera is the image forming device. The electronic image sensors or a photographic film is the recording medium. Nowadays digital cameras are also ready which have electronic medium as the storing medium.

The basic principle of the camera is that, it controls the amount of light and time of the exposure of the camera to the outer world by using a lens. When there is adequate light, then we can form an image on a film. This raw image can then be industrialized to procure a real time traditional image.

Movie camera is someone else type of camera in which the total movements are captured and not only the still. The basic idea behind the movie camera is that the data are captured in a sequence of photographs with no delay in between them. This forms a inviting frame which is often captured with the voice.

Controls of a camera

To ensure that we procure a sharp and clear photograph, we have to make sure that we adjust the camera either manually or automatically. Below are some of the controls and its descriptions.

Focus

Focus is the adjustment that is made to bring the desired area or the desired part to the sharpest point possible. This is regularly done manually, but this is also done automatically in some most recent digital cameras.

Aperture

Aperture can be referred to as the adjustments of the iris. It is also known as the f number. This amount regularly controls the amount of light that will pass through the lens. The gap ,break has also known to have some result on the focus and the depth of the field.

Shutter speed

The controls over the speed of the shutter with which it closes and opens are called as shutter speed. This is regularly in the speeds of milliseconds. This is the time of which the imaging medium and the light are exposed to the storing medium.

White balance

The white equilibrium is a special highlight in the digital cameras that is used to ensure that the white light is captured as it was in the real medium so that the colors that are in the imaging area appear naturally.

Metering

Metering is the determination of the amounts of the exposure of the light. This is done manually so that the inviting light areas and the shadow regions are captured according to the photographer's wish.

Auto-focus point

Auto-focus point is an additional highlight that is employed in many of the new digital cameras to ensure that the focus is done so that it satisfies the photographer's wish. Nowadays multiple auto focus points in the view finder are also available.

What is the Best Digital Camera Brand For 2009?

Picking the best camera brand is very hard, and is something that varies greatly. Some may say Canon, while others may say Kodak. It all depends on what the camera is being used for.

Technically, there is no best camera brand, and it indubitably just comes down to personel preference. Nonetheless, there are quite a few brands that indubitably do dominate in many ways. These brands consist of Olympus, Leica, Panasonic, Minolta, Fuji, Pentax, and Sony. As you can see, it is hard to pick just one brand, as there are many brands that are right up there as "the best camera brand".

Underwater Photographer

As for quality, this may be a bit easier to rank. At the top would be Leica, followed by Panasonic, Minolta, Olympus, Yashica, Practika, Pentacon, Fuji, and Zeiss. There are some other brands, and just because they are not on this list does not mean they are bad brands. In fact, in this time there is indubitably no such thing as "bad camera brand", but there are just safe bet brands that indubitably shine.

Overall, many would say that the Leica could be the best if it was smaller. Many citizen do not like it because it is not one you can fit in your pocket. Though, it is said to be a great film and digital camera nonetheless. Olympus is probably one of the best digital Slr, and if you are willing top pay big bucks for lenses, then this is your best bet.

One thing that should be considered intimately is what type camera you want as well. Some brands do not have good Slr cameras, while others may not have good ultra compact cameras. There are five categories, and before picking a specific brand you should definitely know which of these you will likely want. The categories consist of ultra compact (very small), compact (small), creative compact (a bit bigger than the compact cameras), Slr-like (larger), and the Slr (the largest). Some brands will not have good Slr cameras, so if you want a good Slr camera, some brands may not be an option for you. Generally, Sony caries ultra compact cameras, while Olympus is good known for Slr cameras. Picking a brand is not always something that man can help you with. Often times citizen pick a camera on what they find is appealing. Try out some distinct cameras; see how you like their look, and their interface. It indubitably comes down to personel preference over anything.
