A Muscular Dystrophy Association underwater 'Monopoly' game played in the Polar Bear Den of the Milwaukee County Zoo. Some participants were first time divers playing the popular board game by Parker Brothers in the Polar Bear pool. There are huge viewing ports for guests to watch the intense game played by teams of six to eight divers every 45 minutes. Fun was had by all watching divers trying to communicate while playing the game. All players pay an entry fee to play for some great competition and comradeship for a great cause. Valuable prizes worth hundreds of dollars were awarded to the individuals who brought in the most revenue and most players. The game was played the same as any 'Monopoly game with the person with the most wealth at the end of 45 minutes winning the game. During the 1992 and again in 1993 this event broke its own single day record for fund raising.
